December is always a busy time for the Phil and this year has been no exception, having already completed a tour to Belfast and performed in three concerts just the month before.
We teamed up with Florilegium, a fantastic and very friendly baroque orchestra to perform Messiah with a difference – much more like it would have been heard originally. David Hill managed to balance conducting with playing the harpsichord and althought the Town hall was not as full as we would have liked – we got a very good reception from the audience that did come along with a smashing review..
We rounded the year off with the usual double production of the Lord Mayors Carols, having a good laugh with the Rothwell brass band and leaving the hall heading into a seasonal blast of sleet and gale force winds. See you in 2015.
