From the street to jail – What an autumn season !

We started the 2016/17 season singing on Briggate, progressed through remembrance day at the Armouries with hymns and a bit of The Armed Man.  They want us back for another concert soon.  On to the Minster for Psalms and Joy from Imogen Holst, and Duruflé’s Requiem.  A bit of busking at the station for charity – bolstered by a lovely donation from Alan Bennett.  Then our main concert of Messiah with a fantastic orchestra and then the ever faithful Lord

Our penultimate concert of the 2015-16 season was a great success despite the attempts by the weather to put a dampner on things.  We chose to think the rumbles of thunder during the afternoons rehearsal were good omens and it did remain largely dry at Bolton Abbey for the evening concert and was nice in the morning for the early picnickers.  The only thing louder that day was Alan's splendid organ recital which really rumbled the rafters of the old

Creative spirits in Leeds – Mahler 8th

Absolutely stunning and exhausting.  I think we all experienced the highs and lows of the Mahler concert.  Wondering if we were ever going to tie all the parts together with the other choirs, and then marvelling at the sound when they did.
