Still singing well after 50 years

Last week the Phil celebrated the achievement of tenor David Lunn who has been singing with the Leeds Philharmonic, man and boy, for fifty years.  David joined the Phil when there was a youth choir and moved onto the adult ensemble later – so he is not that old !  Throughout the years David has also sung with the Leeds Festival and is still also singing with the Huddersfield Chorus.  A valued singing member and he also manages the Phil’s music library and is currently the Income Generation trustee.

The Phil marked the occasion by a presentation from David Hill (the Phil’s Music Director), of a painting of Maria Callas  – known to be one of his favourite singers.  The painting was created by talented local artist Jo-Anne Clarke who is a Soprano with the choir.  More details about her work can be found at:
